This guy is THE hardest working artist in Atlanta, period…and we had to give him some shine in the CE spotlight.

Here’s a little background on Kaos and his crew Vintage Imperial:

Vintage Imperial started as a Hip Hop crew in 1998 in Atlanta. They were young kids who had talent as producers, emcees, graffiti writers, Dj’s, etc. As time went on and everyone got older, Kaos’ passion for promotion and coordinating led to field rep positions with Interscope and Capital Records.

“Labels wouldn’t sign me as an artist, so I found another way to get them to cut a check,” says Kaos. “I got my foot in the door and never looked back. I found a way to fit everything I do under one umbrella.”

Besides running Vintage Imperial Marketing and Promo, Señor Kaos still continues to make music, runs a blog (www.thekaoseffect.com), and hosts an internet radio show (Creative Control Radio – www.creativecontrolatl.com).

Make sure you check out a sample of his contribution to the latest Collective Efforts album in the CE Player…the song is called “The Dream”, and he definitely blesses it.

DUBELYOO’s work appears in the 2006 full-length motion picture, ATL, directed by Chris Robinson. His work is also featured in the 2008 music video for Grammy award winner Alicia Keys’ single, Teenage Love Affair. While it is his first love, DUBELYOO takes his creativity beyond the canvas to design clothing and outerwear, and to provide custom art for apparel. The ‘Atlanta’ shoe by popular shoemaker, Converse, is designed by the ART BISHOP, himself.

Since early 2000, DUBELYOO’s mission is to bring the wow factor back to art. In his premiere exhibit, My Uzi Weighs a Ton, DUBELYOO features paintings and illustrations which examine America’s fascination with firearms.

His most recent project is Art, Beat’s + Lyrics; a popular art exhibit which DUBELYOO co-created and produces. In 2008, AB+L partnered with liquor brand, Jack Daniels, to produce one of the nation’s largest, urban art exhibits. DUBELYOO and Art, Beats, & Lyrics are currently touring across the country. In his everyday efforts to “convert the wack”, the Art Bishop shares tips, commentary and experiences through his popular blog site, www.dubelyoo.net.

DUBELYOO is a student of his craft and received a BFA in Communications Arts from East Carolina University. Since he moved here from Jacksonville, Florida, this kid has been making serious moves in Atlanta.   After a brief stint as label mates on the now defunct Arc The Finger Records, Dillon Maurer, formerly known as Intellekt, paved his way and made a name for himself on the ATL hip hop scene utilizing a cool, confident delivery over jazzy rap beats.   You can tell that he puts a lot of time into his art.    His honest lyrics and comfortable flow make the listener feel like they know Dillon before ever meeting him face to face.

Also an incredible chef (check out his blog, DillonAteThat.com), his current project is entitled “Studies In Hunger” and is produced entirely by P. Locke (aka Therapy of The ABs and The Smile Rays) and is due out some time this year, hopefully.  He just got back from an excursion to Berlin where he was visiting and working with Batsauce and Da*sey, the other two members of The Smile Rays.

Look for more good things from Dillon…when he’s not cooking up some great veggie dishes, or learning piano, or sampling records, or planting in the garden, or editing some video clips, or educating the kids, he’ll probably be in the studio writing, recording and getting ready to bless y’all with some more heat.  Check out this post on The Shining Silver Lining for another side of Dillon’s work.
